Breaded fish and chips

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of white fish fillet (i just use frozen sutchi fillet, easily bought at NTUC fairprice)
  • 1-2 cups of corn flour (or rice flour) to coat
  • Salt & Pepper for seasoning
  • 3-4 eggs  (beaten)
  • 1-2 cups of bread crumbs. (i used Japanese bread crumbs as they are lighter and crispier)
  • 4-5 cups of canola oil (regular cooking oil will do)- heat in a deep pan large enough for the fish in low heat
  • 2 lemons (cut in wedges)

Prep:
  1. Thaw fish fully ( make sure they are at room temperature) - for fluffy fish
  2. Pat fish to dry (with paper towels)
  3. Seasoned with salt and pepper to taste (i used both black and white pepper)
  4. Power fish with corn flour
  5. Coat the powdered fish with the beaten eggs
  6. Drop the fish in a large dish containing the bread crumbs. (you may want to press in those crumbs into the fish) sometimes i mix the crumbs with grated cheddar cheese.
  7. Deep fry the fish in oil (till golden brown)
Buchuk cheat tarta sauce:
Mix 1 heap /1 small tub of yogurt with chopped white onions and garlic (finely chopped)
salt and pepper to taste.
you can add some parsley /1-2 mint leaves finely chopped
(alternatively you can use mayo instead of yogurt with 1tsp of apple cider vinegar)

Serve with 2 wedge of lemons
